Talking to The Tab

A BOLD new student newspaper venture has been launched by enterprising young journalist Jack Rivlin.

The Tab, an on-line Cambridge University newspaper, has been rolled out to University College London and the universities at Durham, Exeter and East Anglia.

Jack co-founded the on-line publication in 2009 and after gaining funding, left his job as night news reporter at the London Evening Standard to head the business.

I was extremely impressed with the quality of The Tab when I first read it earlier this year and under Jack’s stewardship, it has a great future. The ambition is to launch in all universities, recruiting undergraduates as volunteer staff.

At London’s City University last week, 60 new student recruits turned up to hear a talk by the Sunday Times night editor Maurice Chittenden, former Tab editor and Standard writer Joshi Herrmann and myself.
